All grapes are an amazing snack food.
Frozen or raw grapes offer many possibilities. Their flavor is tart and sweet
that can add some fun to many other fruits.
Benefits
First off: GO ORGANIC. Grapes are very high on pesticide
levels. Grapes are low on the glycemic index giving them low blood sugar
benefits. Resveratrol in grapes are linked to longevity. The phytonutrients in
grapes benefit many things: cardiovascular, respiratory, immune, inflammatory,
blood sugar regulation, and nervous system. Ending the benefits with
antioxidants is a big winner! Getting the most it is important to eat the
entire grape (the skin has the most abundant source).
Preparation
When choosing grapes choose the ripest one. They are very
plump and have no wrinkles, securely connected to the stem, they should always
be stored in the fridge. Best way to keep in fridge is wrap unwashed grapes in
a paper towel and place in airtight container or bag. Freezing grapes is a
great snack idea. All you need to do wash the grapes and pat them dry. I like
to remove them all from the stem and once they are fully dry put into a freezer
safe bag and freeze.
